Ornate Ghost Pipefish
At Torpedo in Horseshoe Bay (Rinca, Indonesia) we also spotted this beautiful Ornate Ghost Pipefish (Solenostomus paradoxus). He was more than 10 cm long. We produced a small sandstorm while watching it and i had to remove lots of backscatter afterwards.
Chromodoris leopardus
Although our Nudibranch book says that Chromodoris leopardus does not live around the small Sunda islands, we saw several of them. This picture was taken in a depth of 8 meters at Crinoid Canyon in Horseshoe Bay (Rinca, Indonesia), the nudibranch was 5 cm long
Tambja morosa
On almost every dive in the waters of the Small Sunda Islands you can see these beautiful nudibranchs called Tambja morosa. This one was 5 cm long and decoratively seated on a golden tunicate in 7 meters depth at Pulau Pisan in Horseshoe Bay.
Indian Tubeworm
The picture of this yellow Indian Tubeworm (Sabellastarte indica) was taken at Cannibal Rock in Horseshoe Bay.
Feeding Sea Apple
Like all other sea cucumbers, Sea Apples (Pseudocolochirus violaceus) have several branched tentacles used to fish for plankton, detrius and small organic particles. Slowly one tentacle after the other is passed into their mouth where the attached food is wiped off. Pulau Pisan right side (Rinca, Indonesia)
