I filled in for another photographer for the November exhibition at Foto Video Sauter in Munich on rather short notice and decided to show some images from my trip to Lanzarote last May. The final decision was on me but i had a fun rating contest with 50 candidate images running for a week and want to say Thank You to every one who participated and left some hearts.
The exhibition will feature 22 prints of five different models as well as additional photos including some making of snapshots and some island scenery shown in a slideshow on a large 4k screen.
Today i finally finished editing the last of the printed mages and uploaded them all for printing.
After a lunch break in our appartment and a short nap we packed our photo gear and met with the rest of our group for our afternoon session in an abandoned quarry and a small canyon next to it. Both locations are really interesting and just a short drive away from the Guatiza gas station.
Today's morning session took place at and around the ruins of a once surely beautiful villa in the middle of a cactus plantation between the village of Mala and the sea.
On the island of Lanzarote and espacially close to Mala there still are a few places where they grow the indian fig opuntia and use it as a host plant to farm Cochineal lice to produce crimson dye.
In the afternoon we drove across the island to the famous Playa de Famara, also known as Surfer's Paradise and "the mirror beach". The idea was to shoot some beach images in the mellow afternoon light and finally the models plus their mirror image during sunset.
This morning we got up real early to take some pictures of our models at the Playa de la Garita - the beautiful sandy bay next to Arrieta. We met at short past six, half an hour before sunrise and still rather cool but the sky was already glorious and the water calm.
On May 5th we departed from Munich to meet with Stefan Gesell and a group of fellow photographers for a model sharing event to take fashon, erotic and nude images of 5 beautiful and talented ladies on the beautiful island of Lanzarote. We were based on the southeastern coast of the island in a small village called Arrieta.
The first session took place on May 6th at a location we dubbed the Miniature Monument Valley. It is to the left and right of the road from Guatiza to Teguise.
